Ghana will host the 2025 Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) Investment Fair and Exhibition this September, a strategic event aimed at unlocking investment opportunities and promoting value addition across the country’s tree crops sector.
Launching the fair in Accra on Monday, the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare , described the upcoming event as a landmark platform to celebrate Ghana’s progress in the tree crops subsector while accelerating a shift from raw commodity exports to value-added industrialisation.
“This fair signals a decisive shift. Value addition is no longer optional; it is an imperative,” she said. “We cannot afford to lose billions in export value by shipping raw cashew nuts while neglecting the cashew apple, or by exporting unprocessed shea when we could be producing premium shea butter, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products.”
The September fair is expected to convene stakeholders from across the value chain — including investors, producers, processors, exporters, and development partners — to explore opportunities in farm productivity, factory infrastructure, processing technology, logistics, storage, and skills training.
Ofosu-Adjare assured participants of the Ministry’s full commitment to working with TCDA and private sector actors to position tree crops as key drivers of Ghana’s agro-industrial transformation agenda.
Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, CEO of the Tree Crops Development Authority, emphasized that the fair will be open to both public and private sector players and will showcase the economic value and untapped potential of Ghana’s tree crops industry. He noted that the event will serve as a critical avenue to attract long-term investment, stimulate job creation, and boost export revenue.
The 2025 TCDA Investment Fair and Exhibition will take place in September 2025, with dates and venue to be officially announced in the coming weeks.
