Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has described the delivery of locally produced Jubilee crude oil to the Sentuo Oil Refinery as a major milestone in Ghana’s petroleum industry.
According to the Minister, the development demonstrates the government’s commitment to adding value to the country’s natural resources locally, strengthening energy security, and retaining more economic benefits within Ghana.
Mr. Jinapor said the initiative aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of deepening local participation and promoting industrial development in the petroleum sector.

He noted that the delivery follows the successful supply of Ghanaian crude oil to a domestic refinery in 2016 and represents continued progress in integrating upstream oil production with local refining capacity.
The Minister highlighted the growing role of Sentuo Oil Refinery in Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry and disclosed that the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) is also refining crude following the receipt of one million barrels of oil.
According to him, the collaboration between government, industry stakeholders, and petroleum sector partners underscores a shared commitment to advancing Ghana’s energy security and industrial transformation agenda.
