The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) led CEOs of National Oil Companies and delegates of the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO) on an official visit to the Sentuo Oil Refinery in Tema as part of the 7th APPO NOC CEOs Forum.
The tour highlighted Ghana’s strengthening downstream capacity, with Sentuo currently refining 40,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
The refinery employs more than 420 Ghanaians and is already working toward a major Phase Two expansion that will further boost its output and impact.
Officials underscored GNPC’s catalytic role in driving such investments, stressing that the Corporation’s partnerships and strategic positioning remain central to building an integrated energy future for Ghana.
The visit formed part of APPO’s broader agenda to deepen cooperation among African oil-producing nations and strengthen local refining capacities to reduce dependence on imported petroleum products.
