The Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan Constituency, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has launched the Obaatanpa Educational Scholarship Scheme, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at expanding access to education for young people in her constituency.
Announcing the scheme, she described it as a historic milestone that aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to supporting education and development in Ghana.
She emphasized that the initiative complements ongoing efforts to improve educational access, including the Free Senior High School Policy, as outlined in their manifesto.
Under the scholarship, 120 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) students from each electoral area will receive full sponsorship, while 100 tertiary students across the constituency will have their tuition fees fully paid.
The program is designed to ease the financial burden on families and ensure that no child is denied the opportunity to pursue their education due to lack of funds.
Applications for the scholarship are to be submitted to the Essikado-Ketan MP’s office, located at Essikado Hospital Junction, also known as Dr. Grace Mall. The deadline for submissions is Friday, 11th April 2025.
Prof. Dr. Ayensu-Danquah reaffirmed her commitment to youth empowerment and educational development, stating that the scholarship is a direct investment in the future of the constituency.
She encouraged eligible students to seize this opportunity, as education remains a powerful tool for transforming lives and communities.
