An accident near Yamoransa on the Cape Coast–Accra Highway has left several people trapped, with fears of fatalities.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) confirmed that a rescue team from its Regional Headquarters in Cape Coast is currently on-site carrying out emergency operations to free the victims.
According to the Service, multiple passengers remain trapped in the wreckage as firefighters and emergency responders work tirelessly to save lives. Though details on casualties remain unclear, the crash is suspected to have claimed some lives.
GNFS has also cautioned motorists using the Cape Coast–Accra Highway, particularly near Yamoransa, to exercise extreme care while driving, as rescue operations continue and traffic flow has been affected.
Authorities are expected to provide further updates as investigations into the cause of the accident progress.
