The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an armed robbery attack at the KwafoKrom GOIL Filling Station near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.
The suspects, identified as Amos Boame and Collins Adjei, were arrested over the robbery which occurred on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
A statement issued by the police on Tuesaday(May 26), said one other suspect identified only as Ashivie is currently on the run, with police intensifying efforts to apprehend him for his alleged role in the attack.
Police said exhibits retrieved from the suspects include an Alder Tupal pump-action gun with serial number 245A-12944, an electronic shocker, a cutlass and a bulletproof vest.
Investigators disclosed that during the robbery, the suspects shot a security guard and a pump attendant who had sought refuge in an office within the filling station.
The robbers also made away with GH¢13,460 in cash as well as assorted provisions whose value is yet to be determined.
Police further revealed that a search at the crime scene led to the recovery of 19 spent cartridges and one live round of ammunition.
The injured victims are currently in stable condition receiving medical care.
The Eastern South Regional Police Command said efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining accomplices and bring them to justice.
